Fish Value Chain Project

Upscalling & Implemetation Details:

Caritas Murang’a received KES 6,813,000 in January 2022 to implement a 2-year project titled “Upscaling the adoption of fish rearing technologies amongst 750 small-scale fish farmers for livelihood enhancement and sustainability in Kirinyaga County in Mwea East, Mwea West and Kirinyaga West Sub-counties”.

The project is upscaling the adoption of aquaculture technologies by smallholder farmers. Caritas is working with selected fingerings multipliers to enhance the farmers’ access to quality catfish and tilapia fingerings. The project targets to reach 750 farmers directly and 14,400 farmers indirectly. The project is ending on 26th January 2024.
