Upscalling & Implemetation Details:

Ustadi Foundation received KES 6,813,000 in March 2020 to implement a project titled “Upscaling agricultural technologies to enhance productivity and Incomes for Cashew nut smallholder farmers in Kenya”. The project aim was to upscale the adoption of improved, climate-smart production and management technologies for enhanced Cashew nut productivity and incomes. The project involved the management of existing orchards and the establishment of new ones with improved cashew varieties. The farmers were trained on rehabilitation of old tree practices such as top working and coppicing. The project targeted to reach 10,000 cashew farmers in Malindi, Magarini, Kilifi North, and Ganze Sub Counties in Kilifi County. The project ended on 19th March 2023.
