Upscalling & Implemetation Details:

Caritas Nyahururu received KES 6,813,000 in February 2022 to implement a 2-year project titled: “3,000 smallholder farmers adopting beans value chain in Laikipia County are food secure, live healthy lives and are economically empowered”.

The project is upscaling three new high nutrient rich and high-yielding bean varieties (Angaza, Nyota and Faida) to smallholder farmers in Githiga, Olmoran & Sossian wards in Laikipia County.

The overall objective of the project is to increase adoption and production of improved bean varieties in order to improve food security, nutrition and income. The project targets 3,000 farmers directly and 10,000 indirectly.
