The target beneficiaries were 10,000 households Camel keepers of Isiolo and Laikipia Counties
The project business model of the Camel milk value chain is promoting productivity through technology adoption and camel management techniques. Owing to the vast area of operation the project outreach program has been clustered into eight (8) production sites namely Kulamawe, Biliqu, Ngare mara, Kipsang, Isiolo Peri-urban, Doldol and Rumuruti in Isiolo and Laikipia Counties. The clustering has reduced the distance the pastoralist travel to sell milk thus reducing the loss of milk due to extreme heat. Commercialization will be achieved with some level of investment in coolers, milk collection cans, and motorbike riders to ease milk collection.
