Upscalling & Implemetation Details:

The funding received was KES 6,813,000 in April 2020 to implement a project titled; “Increasing Food and Nutrition Security for Smallholder Farmers in Makueni and Machakos Counties”.

The project upscaled three new high yielding green gram varieties (Karembo, Biashara and Ndengu Tosha) in selected wards in Yatta and Mwala sub-Counties in Machakos County. In Kitui County the project targeted selected wards in Kitui East, Kitui South, Kitui Rural and Mwingi Central sub-Counties. The action aimed at reaching 2080 (women-1,248, Youth-208, Men-832) farmers directly and 7,920 indirectly.
